What should a healthy church look like according to God? The Bible describes the church as an active body of Christ-followers who worship, witness, train, and care in the name of Jesus. Berkeley Baptist has ministries which help people do these four things.
Worship Teams
- Children’s Resource Room – All kinds of activities and supplies for children and families to use during worship services.
- Media Room – Sets up and operates all sound, light, and audio equipment.
- Preschool Care – Provides safe, secure, and loving care for 0-3 year old’s during the Sunday worship.
- Worship – Plans and prepares for weekly Sunday worship experiences.
Witness Teams
- Greeters – Welcomes people to church and offers any needed guidance.
- Life Camp Afterschool – An afterschool program for K-5 thru 5th grade – planning to start in the fall of 2023.
- Ironman Classic – An annual fishing tournament named in memory of the late Doug Ricafrente who was a world champion weightlifter, accepted Christ as an adult, and went on to become a faithful servant of Jesus and of Berkeley Baptist.
Mission Efforts
- Changed Lives Ministry Support – Berkeley provides monthly meals and devotions for our local Christ-centered rehabilitation ministry.
- Christmas Shoe Boxes – Small gift boxes are donated to Samaritan’s Purse so that children and families in underdeveloped countries may hear about Jesus
- Legacy Mission International – Support and encouragement of missionaries working in Honduras.
- Lowcountry Pregnancy Center – Support and encouragement of this local Christ-centered ministry to women who consider their pregnancy a crisis.
- Snacks for Schools – Church members provide snacks which are taken to the local schools for teachers and administrators.
- Prisoner Packets – In conjunction with many other SC Baptist churches, prisoners are provided a small packet of supplies in the name of Jesus.
- Voice of the Martyrs – Donations are collected and given to this organization to support and encourage Christians who are subject to persecution.
- Warming Shelter – We host a warming shelter service for Berkeley County during extreme cold weather for homeless people.
Training Teams
- Women’s Bible Group – Meets on Wednesday nights and is open for participation.
- Men’s Bible Group – Meets on Wednesday nights and is open for participation.
- Young Adult Life Skills – Meets on Wednesday nights and is open to young adults
- Pastor’s Class – The class to attend immediately after joining the church. It usually lasts about 10-12 weeks and typically meets on Sunday mornings.
Care Teams
- Deacons – They are servants of God and His church. They look after church members and offer spiritual guidance to the church family.
- MAN Club – Men meet around a good wholesome meal – usually a steak grilled on our outdoor grill.
- Property Team – These are the faithful stewards of our buildings and grounds. Berkeley is blessed with nice property and nice facilities which remain nice only because of the relentless and loyal work of these servants of our Lord.
- Women’s Prayer Group – Prayer where specific needs of people are specifically voiced to God. This group typically meets on Tuesday mornings.
